Certain benign skin lesions, such as seborrhoeic keratoses (‘age warts’), and areas of sun damage can be treated with a freeze spray of liquid nitrogen thereby avoiding surgery. A short burst of spray is applied to the lesion which may then become red and inflamed or blistered before healing. Occasionally repeat treatment is needed for complete resolution.
