Some women’s breasts are of a size that causes problems with a back and neck pain or a rash below the breast. Other women just prefer their breasts to be smaller. There are many techniques available to reduce breast size to proportions in keeping with your body shape. In addition to a reduction in physical symptoms there are psychological and emotional benefits from breast reduction surgery based on alteration in body shape (finding clothes that fit and suit your figure) and also on a social level.
A general anaesthetic and a 1-2 night stay in hospital is required. A sports bra is worn over the dressings for comfort and support. Wound drains are removed before discharge from hospital. You will need 2 weeks off work while the wounds heal and avoid exercise for 4 weeks.
