This procedure tightens the upper thigh skin by removing excess skin and fat resulting in an improved contour. Often the skin excess develops after weight loss or simply with aging.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic with an overnight stay in hospital. The scars are located on the inner thigh and should heal in 2 weeks though supportive tape should be placed along the scar for 4-6 weeks. Often surgical drains are placed that are removed the day after the surgery. Physical exercise should be avoided for 6 weeks though return to work on light duties is expected by 3 weeks. Any swelling should have settled completely by 3 months though scars continue to soften and fade for up to 18 months.
