Age related changes apply to breast tissue as well as skin. A breast shape can be lifted into a a younger, youthful shape sometimes with an implant alone tightening the breast skin by adding volume whilst raising the height of the nipple. Frequently however the breast skin has to be adjusted to allow the skin to redrape over the enlarged breast and raise the nipple position. Often this is done in 2 stages. Mr Cawrse can advise you regarding which approach would suit you best and what to expect.
A general anaesthetic and 1-2 night stay in hospital is required. A sports bra should be worn on top of the dressings for comfort and support. A wound drain will be needed which is removed before discharge. The wounds heal in 10-14 days after which you may return to work though exercise should be avoided for about 4 weeks.
