Breast tissue and skin relaxes with age to the point where the breast becomes ‘droopy’ (ptotic). Significant weight loss and after finishing breast feeding can also contribute to this. A breast uplift tightens the breast skin and raises the nipple to a more youthful position. There are many techniques available and Mr Cawrse can advise you in this respect.
A general anaesthetic and 1-2 day hospital stay is normal. A sports bra is worn over the dressings after the operation for comfort and support. Two weeks off work is advised and refraining from vigorous exercise for 4 weeks.
